AWARD OF SCHOLARSHIP TO THE CHILDREN WHO ARE RECIPIENTS OF NATIONAL CHILD AWARD FOR EXCEPTIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS AND OTHER NATIONAL / INTERNATIONAL MERIT AWARDS

RULES AND GUIDELINES

GENERAL

The Government of Puducherry is implementing this scheme from the year 2006 – 07 under the state’s fund with the following objectives:

  1. To recognize the talents of children who are recipients of National Child Award for Exceptional Achievements and other National / International Merit Awards.
  2. To other children in their pursuits of outstanding achievements in different fields of Human Resource Development.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. The award recipient children should be domiciled in the U.T. of Puducherry and studying in educational institutions run by any State Government, Central Government or Private Schools recognized by the respective State or Central Government.
  2. The testimonials of the awards and the certificate to the effect of domicile issued by the Revenue Authorities shall be furnished.
  3. The applications in respect of the children outside the U.T. of Puducherry should be countersigned by the Competent Educational Authorities of the respective States or Union Territories.
  4. No income ceiling.

Amount of Scholarship:
The rate of scholarship is Rs.6,000/- per annum per student.

Receipts of Proposals / Applications:

  1. The award recipient children should apply for the scholarship along with the relevant certificates for their exceptional achievements in different fields of Human Resource Development.
  2. The applications in respect of the children outside the U.T. of Puducherry should be countersigned by the Competent Educational Authorities of the respective States or Union Territories.
  3. The application should be submitted to this Directorate through the Head of Institutions from where the students are studying after the receipt of the National Child Award.

Payment of Scholarship:
The Department disburses the scholarship amount directly into the Aadhaar seeded viable bank account of the sanctioned / approved beneficiaries by DBT through ECS.
